Albertans march for gun control

March for Our Lives gathers on the legislature grounds

Hundreds gathered at the Alberta legislature on Saturday, March 24, as part of an international “March for Our Lives” aimed at reinforcing current gun laws and stopping future school shootings.

As the demonstrators gathered before the stairs leading up to the legislature building, many of them carried signs that expressed their feelings and concerns. Among the crowd, there were children who stayed close to their families.

Halfway up the staircase, various speakers took turns addressing the crowd, recounting what they had experienced and pressing what needs to be changed.

Throughout the speeches, the crowd listened intently and gave a loud round of applause when they became inspired by some of the speakers’ words.

The speeches were then followed by a moment of silence and a march around the grounds.
