On July 29, MacEwan Griffins announced on Instagram that all men’s and women’s home soccer games will be held at Clarke Stadium for the 2026 soccer season.

In an email to the Griff, Griffins Athletics explained that because the university doesn’t have its own soccer venue, it relies on partnerships with the City of Edmonton to host Griffins games in city venues.

In 2018, the Griffins started playing at Clarke Stadium after their primary venue, Jasper Place Bowl, was closed for a year of renovations. Since then, Clarke Stadium has been the Griffins’ “preferred venue for soccer.”

The teams were previously playing at Edmonton Scottish due to re-turfing renovations at Clarke Stadium. Edmonton Scottish was then used as an alternative venue whenever Commonwealth Stadium events conflicted with the Griffins’ home games.

This season, the Griffins’ home game schedule fortunately does not overlap with any Commonwealth Stadium events, so all the games will be at Clarke Stadium.
