We’re MacEwan University’s student publication. We cover the latest goings-on around the city centre campus, Edmonton’s downtown core, and whatever else matters to MacEwan students. Our team is composed of journalists, writers, and creatives.
We care about supplying MacEwan with honest reporting, quality media, and good vibes.
The Griff has been around since 2011 as a campus newspaper before becoming a magazine in 2015. We currently print seven issues from September to April, excluding December. We do not currently operate at full capacity from April to September.

Hey, I’m Thai. This is my fourth year as EIC of the Griff, but I previously worked as the online editor from 2016-2019 while I studied communications. I’m the only full-time staff member here at the Griff. I like to go for cold walks in Edmonton winters and paint miniatures.
I am a fifth-year design student, and this is my 3rd year as an editor at the Griff. I was previously the graphics editor for two years. No, I do not have a beer fridge hidden under my desk.

Hey! I’m Amanda. I’m starting my third year with the Griff as an editor, having worked as the photo editor for two years before moving to news. I’m a bachelor of communication studies student with a major in journalism and a minor in professional communications. I love making extremely niche Spotify playlists.
I’m Brooklyn! I’m a third-year journalism major and professional communication minor. This is my second year with the Griff, after spending my first year as a contributor. I love Thai iced tea, the Met Gala, Emma Chamberlain, and long walks on the beach.

Hi! I’m Virginia, a journalism major and film minor. I started contributing to the Griff in 2025 during my first year at MacEwan and loved it so much that I now work here. My favourite things ever are live music, movies (duh), and my partner’s cat, Patrick!
HEYO! I’m Alex, and I’m a journalism major with a film minor. This is my second year with the Griff and my first year as an editor! FUN FACT: I have a cat named after Effie Trinket from The Hunger Games. I also love rom-coms and Formula One.

Hello, I’m Dallon! I am currently in the bachelor of design program at MacEwan, and this is my first year as the Graphics Editor at the Griff. I like to play the drums; I’ve played with various bands across Edmonton!

I’m a second-year bachelor of communications student in journalism. I contributed to the Griff throughout my first year, focusing primarily on sports writing and video reporting. I have a massive collection of comic books and other geeky stuff.
I’m a design student going into my fifth year of study. I’ve contributed to the Griff whenever I’ve had free time over the past year, and I’m excited to join the team as an editor. I’m a turbo nerd, and always have a bunch of weird projects. Just ask me about it!
